Lilicup

Dit weekend heb ik eindelijk zelf van de Lilicup-cupcakes kunnen proeven. Bij deze kan ik dan ook volmondig bevestigen dat het waar is wat ze zeggen: best cupcakes in town! Zo lekker! Omnomnom!
This weekend I finally tried the cupcakes at Lilicup for myself, and I can know confirm that they are indeed the best cupcakes in town. Oh my god! So good!

Lilycup is één van de vele hotspots in de hippe Kastelein-wijk in Brussel, in de buurt van de Louizalaan. Naast allerlei cupcakes (duh) vind je er ook scones, chocolate cookies en whoopie pies. De dorstige medemens kan ook een homemade lemonade, iced tea of smoothie krijgen.
Lilycup is one of many hotspots in the Chatelain-quarter in Brussels, located near the Avenue Louise. You can have a some homemade lemonade, iced tea or smoothie on of their delicious cupcakes (or scones, whoopie pies or chocolate chip cookies).

Het aanbod is niet elke dag identiek. De Red Velvet-cupcakes waar ik al zoveel lovends over had gehoord, waren er dit weekend blijkbaar niet. Maar niet getreurd, er waren voldoende smakelijke alternatieven! Ik koos een Teddy (chocolade-cupcake, met een lopende praliné-vulling), een Rose (met obligate roze frosting en een lichte hint van rozenwater in het deeg), een amandel-citroen cupcakeje en een overheerlijke pistache-cupcake met cream cheese topping.
Their selection of cupcakes changes on a daily basis (apart from some ever present classics). The Red Velvet-cupcakes I heard so much about, sadly weren't available this weekend. Luckily they sold plenty of other yumminess! I picked a Teddy (a chocolate flavoured cupcake filled with a liquid nutty-like paste), a Rose (a pink frosted cupcake with a hint of rosewater), an almond-lemon flavoured cupcake and a truely delicious pistacchio cupcake with cream cheese topping.
