Beide make-up items in deze Deauty Box zijn van het budget-merk Catrice, te verkrijgen bij Kruidvat. Zelf heb ik twee Catrice-nagellakjes and een paar blushes en daar ben ik best tevreden over. De nagellakken vind ik van vrij goede kwaliteit voor slechts 2,99 euro en ook de blushes zijn goed gepigmenteerd. Ergens toch een beetje teleurstellend, daar Deauty 'luxeproducten' van 'exclusieve' merken belooft... Make-up snob much?

Both make-up items in this month's box are by budget brand Catrice, available in Belgium at Kruidvat. I own a couple of Catrice nailpolishes and some blushes, and I am quite pleased with them. The nailpolishes are good quality for just 2,99 euro/botlle and the blushes are very well pigmented. However I was somewhat disappointed since Deauty promises 'luxury products' from 'exclusive' brands... Being quite the make-up snob here! ;)

Een knalrode lipstick is natuurlijk een must voor elke make-up lover. Deze heeft - u raadt het al- een matte finish en heeft een felrode kleur. Hij doet me denken aan Lady Danger van Mac, al heeft deze laatste een iets uitgesprokener oranje ondertoon.

A red lipstick is a must for any make-up lover. This one has a matte finish (hence the name) and is a bright red colour. It reminds me of Mac's Lady Danger, although the latter has a more prominent orange undertone.

Mac's Lady Danger is duidelijk veel intenser qua kleur: vier veegjes It's A Matt World versus één veegje Mac. Daartegenover staat dat de Catrice-versie dan weer veel betaalbaarder is (3,99 versus 18,5 euro) en wellicht een betere optie wanneer je niet zeker bent of red hot lips iets voor jou zijn.

Mac's Lady Danger is clearly a lot more intense and pigmented: four swipes of It's A Matt World versus a single swipe of Lady Danger. Of course the Catrice lipsticks are a lot more affordable (3,99 versus 18,5 euro) and might be the smarter choice when you're not sure of the red lip look.

Catrice - Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette - full size

Dit palette is duidelijk geïnspireerd op de populaire Naked-palettes van Urban Decay, ware iconen in make-up-lala-land. Helaas geeneens een verdienstelijk poging: de kleuren zijn redelijk saai en eentonig, en bovendien slecht gepigmenteerd. Voor 4,99 euro ben je natuurlijk niet echt afgezet, maar investeren in een echte Naked Palette (rond de 37 euro) is echt de moeite.

Clearly inspired by Urban Decay's popular Naked-palettes, true icons in make-up land. However this is not exactly a successful attempt: very poorly pigmented dull colours. At 4,99 euro it's not a complete rip-off, but I highly recommend investing in a real Naked palette!

Vorige maand zond Deauty me voor de tweede maal een droogshampoo van Klorane en ook deze maand leek dat scenario zich te gaan herhalen. Mijn pruillip bleek echter voorbarig! Ik had immers A60, dit is A63: een wereld van verschil ;) Etat Pur biedt verscheidene concentraten aan voor specifieke huidproblemen. A63 (magnesium) richt zich op de door stress verzwakte huid, waar mijn A60 (citroenzuur) aanbevolen is voor een doffe huid. Leuk om deze hoogaangeschreven producten te kunnen uitproberen. Bij een online bestelling krijg je dankszij Deauty overigens een gratis reinigende mousse.

Last month Deauty sent me a dry shampoo by Klorane for the second time, and this month this scenario seemed to repeat itself! However, my sulking prooved to be premature. I already had a flask of A60, this was A63: a huge difference ;) Etat Pur has a wide range of concentrates, each one designed for a specific skin problem. A63 (magnesium) is said to remedy skin fragility due to stress, whereas A60 (citric acid) is destined for dull complexions. I love thying out these higly regarded products. Estée Lauder - Revitalizing Supreme - 5ml

Een wel heeeeel klein staaltje van deze verzorgende Anti-aging crème die hydrateert en verjongt. De full size versie van dit product wordt dat ook verkocht voor een astronomische 85 euro. Hij ruikt wel lekker!

Lamazuna - natuurlijke zeep

It does match my nailpolish!

Een stuk natuurlijk zeep uit Aleppo? Goed om weten dat ze in Syrië ook nog wat anders doen dan oorlog voeren. Deze traditionele zeep schijnt wonderen te doen voor acné, eczeem en de droge huid in het algemeen. De mijne ruikt naar Jasmijn (niet slecht) en heeft niet de meest appetijtelijke kleur.

A bar of natural soap from Aleppo? Besides from making war, they apparently also make soap in Syria. This traditional soap is said to work miracles against acne, eczema and is perfect for dry skin. Mine smells like jasmin and comes in a rather unappetizing colour.

Eucerin scheerschuim

Voor hem: een staaltje scheerschuim. Daar maken we verder geen woorden aan vuil.
For him: a sample size Eucerin shaving mousse.  

Hoera voor full sizes! Hoera voor make-up! Globaal gezien geen tegenvallende box, al zit er niet echt een absolute winner tussen. Dit was (voorlopig) mijn laatste Deauty Box. Waar heeft u dat nog gehoord? (hier dus) Ik ga mijn maandelijkse cadeautje (en niet dat uit die vieze Moeder Natuur reclame) echt wel missen, maar toch... Na negen maanden krijg je wel wat bij elkaar, en ik ga mijn 15 euro voortaan gericht uitgeven aan producten die ik echt wil.
